Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Hinge Unban (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you visit our website or use our services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to information collected through the Service. It does not apply to any third-party website, application, or service, including any third-party platform discussed in our walkthroughs (such as Hinge, Google, or Apple), each of which has its own privacy practices that you should review independently.
2. Information We Collect
(a) Information you provide. When you create an account or use the Service, we collect: your email address and password (hashed); the device platform you select (Android or iOS); and any communications you send to us (including support requests). Payment information (card number, expiration, CVV, billing details) is submitted directly to and processed by our third-party payment processor; we do not receive or store full payment-card details.
(b) Information collected automatically. When you access the Service we and our service providers automatically collect: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring URL, pages and features accessed, and timestamps. This information is collected through standard server logs, cookies, similar technologies, and analytics (currently Google Analytics for Firebase).
(c) Information generated through the Service. When you purchase the Fresh Start Package, we associate a leased phone number with your account and store the contents and metadata of any inbound SMS message sent to that number for the limited purpose of delivering the verification code to you.
(d) We do not knowingly collect. We do not request, and do not knowingly collect, sensitive personal information such as government-issued identifiers, precise geolocation, biometric data, financial-account numbers (other than via our processor), health information, or information about minors.
3. How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- to process payments and deliver the entitlements you purchase;
- to provision phone numbers and route SMS verification messages to you;
- to communicate with you about your account, transactions, and support requests;
- to detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms;
- to comply with applicable law, valid legal process, and our legal obligations;
- to enforce our Terms and protect the rights, property, and safety of users and others;
- for internal analytics, product research, and aggregated reporting (which does not identify you).
4. Legal Bases / Permissible Purposes
Where applicable law requires a legal basis or permissible purpose for processing, we process information as necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), to comply with our legal obligations, to protect our and others’ legitimate interests (such as security and fraud prevention), and with your consent where required.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA (collectively, “CCPA”). We disclose information only as follows:
- Service providers. Vendors that perform services for us under written contracts limiting their use of information to those services and requiring confidentiality. Current categories include: authentication and database (Firebase / Google Cloud), payment processing (Stripe), telecom and SMS (Twilio or similar), hosting and analytics (Firebase / Google Cloud), and email delivery.
- Legal and safety. Government authorities or other parties when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or valid legal process, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, ourselves, or others, or to investigate fraud or violations of our Terms.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction; the recipient will be bound by privacy commitments at least as protective as this Policy.
- With your direction or consent. Any other disclosure made at your direction or with your consent.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use a limited set of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Service, and measure usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may impair certain features.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter. Leased phone numbers are released after the lease window ends, and inbound SMS contents are deleted on a short rolling schedule. Payment and tax records are retained as required by applicable law.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
9. Your Privacy Rights
(a) California (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to (i) know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes for collection, and the categories of recipients; (ii) request a copy of your personal information; (iii) request correction of inaccurate personal information; (iv) request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions; (v) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (which we do not engage in); and (vi) be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.
(b) Other U.S. states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others) may have similar rights, which we honor where applicable.
(c) How to exercise your rights. To submit a request, use our contact form and submit it from the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before responding and may decline requests as permitted by law. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf.
(d) Appeals. If we deny your request and your state provides an appeal right, you may appeal by replying to our denial; we will respond within the time required by law.
10. Do Not Track
The Service does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals at this time, as no industry standard for such signals has been finalized.
11. Children
The Service is intended for adults aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States and intended for users located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand and consent that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to or instructions referencing third-party websites and applications. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third party. Review their policies before providing them with any information.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent change. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice (e.g., through the Service or by email). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Contact
